We are privately run childcare providers with two nurseries based in heckmondwike, which are both OFSTED registered. We provide high quality childcare for children from birth to 12 years .

Hamond House Day Nursery was established in 2015, followed by Hamond House Day Nursery (Leeds Road) 2017 and Gomersal House Day Nursery 2025 OFSTED registered, providing the highest standard of childcare with qualified staff with over 15 years’ experience, here every child is valued, supported, and encouraged to grow and thrive. We provide a safe, happy, and stimulating environment that inspires curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Our experienced team works closely with families to meet each child’s unique needs and potential, laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. We follow the EYFS development guidelines, offering a wide range of learning opportunities through an early childhood platform (Famly).
We believe in planning around child’s interest, and enhancements, ensuring activities are spontaneous and aligned with each child’s interests. By tracking your child’s development through our online platform, we incorporate next steps into their learning journey, delivering challenging and engaging experiences that are tailored to their individual needs. Our qualified and skilled staff are dedicated to guiding your child’s progress and supporting them to reach their next developmental milestone.
The welfare of the child is our highest priority, and we strive to ensure that every child feels safe, valued, and supported in all aspects of their development. We believe that your child’s potential is endless — and we are here to help them reach it. All three of our nursery settings are protected by 24-hour CCTV, ensuring the highest level of safety and security for every child in our care.
When your child is ready to start nursery we offer a tailored settling-in period designed to meet the unique needs of each child.
Once you’ve confirmed your child’s place and the registration fee has been received, we offer two free taster sessions, each lasting between 1 to 2 hours. During the first half of the initial session, we encourage you to stay with your child to complete an All about me form and discuss any routines, needs, or special requirements they may have while at nursery. For the second session, we recommend leaving your child for an hour with their keyworker, though you are welcome to call at any time to check in. This will also give your child the chance to begin adjusting to their new surroundings.
Throughout the settling-in process, we encourage you to gradually step back, allowing your child to find their own comfort zone. While you are with your child, their assigned keyworker will spend time getting to know both you and your child, building a strong and supportive relationship.
We understand that every child is different, and some may settle in quickly while others may need more time. We are happy to arrange additional visits if needed to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible. We know this can be a challenging time which we are here to support you every step of the way.
